Facebook Quiely Sets Facebook.com as Default Email
All Facebook users now have a default @facebook.com email address until it's manually changed. Zoom
Facebook has decided to make the @facebook.com address the default email destination for all users whether they want it or not. more...
I wonder how people searching will now happen on facebook. From what I know, you can search for people by email address on facebook. If their personal email address has been replaced by an "@facebook.com" how will you find people until they change their email addresses back?
It sounds to me that this new option will allow people that want to keep their personal email private the option to do that and this may encourage skeptics to join.
I was never a big fan of facebook- the original concept was to rate (and be unkind) to women. I belong (peer pressure), but will never be a fan. Perhaps I am skeptical like Tori.
I am currently in the Ph.D. program @ Fielding Graduate University in Media Psychology and professor of business, management & leadership development with a strong focus on integrating technology at the Graduate School of Management at Cambridge College in Cambridge, MA and Northeastern University. A Social Networking Strategist in consulting and coaching, I am PASSIONATE about technology. I believe it's the most fun and learning that we can have during this time on the planet.
